Various information relating to that of SM's ranks, rank tasks, etc.
Training's --
► What are the 'training's'?
Training's are as implied. A method of allowing your character to learn about their rank and what tasks they may find themselves doing within their given branch through OOC / IC means. Training's are only given for the first initial rank of each branch (besides Royalty and Low branch ranks) and towards novice's. Training's are given via staff or trusted allowed mentors.
► Why does a Novice have training's too? If you are born into Sciamachy Mortala, you are already ahead of the game in terms of climbing the proverbial ladder. Novice's will complete the five training's for the rank of their choosing and be ahead when they actually reach their chosen rank because they will have already completed them. Meanwhile, those who join at an age that permits it, will have to go through the five training's while the Novices should hopefully already be at work for their next task.
► Why are their no tiers after the first rank? After the first rank (in which tiers are representing the five training's you must complete) and even with your first rank you are expected to keep track of your own completed rank tasks via the rank report outline that can be found both via the Discord and on-site. If you don't post one, as the rank report says itself before giving the outline, no proverbial rank related tasks are counted.
► Then how do I rank myself? To keep things simple, beyond the first rank, their will be no tiers that should be placed within your characters name or in relation to their rank. Just your rank and your name afterwards. Tracking of your rank related tasks should be recorded either on-site by you-yourself with the given proof required, within your bio, or some other method of documentation.
► But what would my tiers be then? You would not have any tiers beyond the first initial rank of your branch or if you are a novice.
Imbrues -- ► What does Imbrue mean? The very definition of the word is "stain (something, especially one's hands or sword).", though in the terms of how SM uses it-- it implies a painted on 'tattoo' that represents a characters rank, importance (with how bright the color is), or otherwise.
► When should I update my Imbrue? As Imbrues are generally updated as you rank up, you can either decide to slowly rank yourself up or set a goal for yourself for the end of the month and replace/add your Imbrue then. But please remember, if you have a preset, your Imbrue must be on your character and match the tag that goes with it. So plan wisely and be sure you have time to add your Imbrue to your character as necessary.
► What color would my imbrue be? The color of your Imbrue would match the color codes used for your role. The brightest is the highest ranking of the branch, the darkest the lowest.
Challenges -- ► What are challenges? At a certain time, should it be a given task of yours, you may challenge another above your given rank to further climb the ranks of your branch. They are further explained here; About Challenges.
The Gods & Goddesses -- ► Meetings/Blessings from the Gods? Essentially praying and actually being blessed. Whether through a ritual, general praying, or otherwise.
Royalty Branch -- ► Why are the De'tanxi so special?
The De'tanxi are the leaders of the pack because they were "chosen" by the pack itself through the basis of challenges as well as blessed by all of the seven original Gods and Goddesses (though it is a well-hidden secret). Not born with the blessing, but given the blessing. The De'tanxi can only pass on this special blessing through word of tongue.
Fighter Branch -- ► What is a group spar? The same thing as a regular spar but instead it should represent two 'teams' versing each other to build team companionship and skills you will need while fighting multiples.
►An agility and/or stealth exercise? Just that. Exercise your character as needed.
► A basic explanation of a raid? SM will permissibly raids other groups (real or NPC), with the intention of stealing supplies, establishing their dominance, keeping their reputation and presence known, or simply for the joy of murder-- depending on the given De'tanxi. These raids may happen at random, at any time, to a random pack (or even to rivals as a way of mockery before a war). Raids will happen as often as able depending on the number of active members and higher ranking individuals, a small batch of 2-6 wolves (including a superior) will be sent to the territory and will then proceed to raid under the orders and guidance of the higher ranking wolf. Each wolf will be expected to bring something back whether it be food, medicinal herbs, prisoners, or something of worth ("shiny" objects, feathers, etc). During raids, fights against the raided packs members are of course allowed, but you must remember, you are there to scope out their resources, steal as much as able, and then get out without too many injuries to deal with once you've returned back to the pack. Killing the raided pack's members is not the priority of the raids.
Guard Branch -- ► What are territory tests? Territory tests are a simple OOC procedure that a staff or higher ranking fellow Guard can give. One person will take a screenshot of a chosen area and the other, will have to correctly guess which part of the territory it is. They have three chances. If they lose it doesn't count and they'll have to try another day, if they win, it counts but they still have to wait at the minimum two days before trying again.
► What are long-held watches? As the name implies. When asked OOCly either a staff or fellow Guard will give the one asking a set amount of time to stand at their placements along the border. Once the time is given, the other will have to RP it out. If the time is longer than four hours, they are allowed to time skip at the half-way point. No long-held watch is to last longer than a maximum of eight hours.
Hunter Branch -- ► What are length run tests? When requested either a fellow Hunter or staff will give you a length to run in a allotted amount of time. If you pass, you pass and must wait at the minimum two days before attempting another. If you fail, you may choose to try again immediately (mindful of fatigue) or wait a day. No distance should be longer than approximately 5-15 miles.
Punisher Branch -- ► What are law dispute training's? As a Punisher, they should know the law that they are punishing the wolves of the pack for. These training's help for such in those cases. For example, a law dispute training may consist of one Punisher proclaiming a deed they figured to be wrong under the law and the other Punisher apart of the training may either argue or accept the claim. Either way, for both Punishers, it is considered a pass.
► What are assisted take-downs? Punishers aren't known in their branch to particularly 'work together' but sometimes you need a little bit of extra muscle to apprehend a being. This is when this such task comes into play and any that take part will reward themselves with a pass.
► What are investigations? Investigations are as the name implies, a investigation of a crime that may have been committed.
► What are study sessions of the law? You and a possible fellow will ICly study the law. It can be as long as or as short as you wish it, but remember the minimum post paragraphs you must keep. For all that participate it is considered a pass.
Healer Branch -- ► What is a herb sorting and/or learning session? A learning session for a healer is much of the same as it is for a Punisher, learn the entity your supposed to master within your rank either hand's on or verbally.
Spiritual Branch -- ► What are visions? Visions are very simply images that only those of the Spiritual branch and that of the De'tanxi can see. They can last for a mere thirty minutes to as long as a long held watch at max. Though they come with their own risks such as 'dream fever' (succumbing to the visions their seeing to live out that life and allowing their mortal form to rot away; limited to the one's who are permitted the V'kein rank). Visions include scenes that will only be given by a staff (De'tanxi, E'tani, Le'mari, and D'tei) and those staff will determine how long they will be. Visions can be repeated, reversed, as long as wanted, and as short as a simple sentence. All you need to do is ask a staff and they will grant one.
► What are connections--to both God and other spirituals? Connections are a bond that will intimately form between one or more individuals via the soul or heart. Connecting with a fellow spiritual requires trust as you are literally allowing them to insert a piece of themselves into your very soul for as long as the vision lasts. Meanwhile, a connection with the God was instantly formed as soon as you were born and therefore while it should easier to make the link--rather, it's difficult as just as a fellow, you will be letting yourself submit further to the God, opening yourself to suggestion and undue influence from them.
► What is scribing? Scribing in Sciamachy Mortala is the occurrence of a being recording the events of history and/or a vision. The sooner the event recorded, the better. It could be something as simple as the birth of a litter or as drastic as a coming war. What is scribed can often be found on rocks, scraped by the nails of a claw to form something coherent.
Low Branch -- ► So if I'm a Craftsmen/C’fhat does that mean I'm the only one doing the job? You may be and as an Elder holding the rank, you may find yourself getting more work as people may come to you to make items for their beloved and such. But that by far doesn't mean that a elder Crafstmen is the only one capable of making the items as they are free to pass on the skill for pure fun to a being of their choosing beside a Prisoner / P’r’kek should they wish too.
