Life was often like a firefly. A blinking fashion that showed that you were, still, very much alive, but often times, that life can snuffed out so quickly and without warning, nothing dares question why. On the other hand—life brings trials and triumphs that test your every waking breath. The one behind them, the playful mastermind of them all makes sure that the life they keep under their thumb doesn’t wink out until you’ve passed every test. While siblings, specifically one’s that hold two ruling powers are a rarity among Gods, this god holds the title of such.
Tantoa is, as most would call a scheming mastermind who oftentimes holds the very life of mortals over the heads of the other gods to get what he wants. Any form of trickery, any bout of mischief, is this gods doing—and he enjoys every minute of it. But as far as this gods’ scheming goes, he still has a duty to uphold and he does. In his very paws, he both creates and sustains the life that balances the mortal world, while working in close cohorts (although not by his choosing) with Anthek to ensure both life and death work at a steady pace.
Many are wary of the power the mischievous god holds. Anger him, he could withhold the energy of the world, and while life would continue, eventually death would consume all as no new life would blossom. Most question why he hasn’t—and the reason is simple. His worshippers were the only thing that could keep him himself alive as an immortal. Kill them and he has no mortals to torment, no souls to keep alit—nothing. Life would be utterly dreary.
It also didn’t help that his sister would’ve been affected as well. He would protect and cause no harm to his sister, not for every trick in the world, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t allow his mischievous side to come out to play with her either. He knew of her withheld desire for his dear friend Noronus. He was no fool, after all, no matter how tightly leashed she kept her emotions.
But alas, no matter how much he truly desired to make her squirm under his tricks or otherwise, he knew the trouble it would bring—trouble he found often desiring as well. And with worshippers now under his paws grasp besides his fellow god and goddess, he knew that his tricks would have to wait. For now. As for his sister? Only time will tell how long he would continue to hold her secret.
Tantoa has chosen the form of a red fox. Mischievous orbs gleaming a pale grey, while red tufts merge with a dusting of light gold (rather than white), upon his chest in various sweeping lines that merge together atop his back and sweep down his spine.
If you pray upon this god, you have a chance of being blessed or punished. Keep this in mind when bowing your head. Plot/Monthly Updates;
- Chapter One ; Their were some jokes and mischievous actions not even Tantoa should dip his toe into. And of-course he had found himself dipping his entire foot into the most ignorant one yet. Gozgriz had somehow managed to coerce him into his idiotic plan; a plan that had originally seemed smart until he realized messing with the very vitality of the mortals who kept them immortal—was utterly stupid. But alas, it seemed the more brute than brainy male had set his sights on something— or someone else for that matter and that left Tantoa free from his agreement. For now, at-least.
- Chapter Two ; Something was wrong. Very, very wrong. No, he wasn't talking about his dear sister and her hopeless fixation and devotion to Noronus! That was wrong from the very start. But rather-- the fact that the very being who had forced him into such a perilous agreement was now gone alongside another goddess. Add onto the fact that Lavosa returned from her romp with the mortals and it seemed like even Anthek stayed out of the way. But while it seemed the others may not have realized it--they knew. They realized that something had happened and with the very energy he presided over being avidly tampered with--it was rightly placed to say he had a goal to figure out what the hell was going on.
- Chapter Three ; Fools! Absolute fools! He was obviously one of the very few Gods that could both handle and create a magnificent joke--but this, this was too far for even him. He had felt it when their child entered the world. It was unnatural--and as the very God who presided over the energy that allowed life to come to fruition--it was a shock when he had even noticed it. It was unscheduled, unplanned--so to speak. Something that was happening either too early or too late--and he couldn't help but think the mother involved wasn't exactly willing. He could only hope that he was wrong, but by the look of the Goddess of marriage--perhaps he was in the right to think that way.
- Chapter Four ; How is one supposed to sleep at night when all one can picture is the gleam of terrifying--and yes, even he admitted they were terrifying--red godly orbs glaring down at them. It was a recurring nightmare-- he wished he could be rid of and if it weren't for the fact that the damned child belonged to Stolthet--who he had no qualms against and knew to be the sweetest of dame's (it was unfortunate the lass refused to speak now)--he was sure he would've already played some evil, malicious prank to be rid of the thing. Perhaps he should just ask Anthek to suck the immortality from it? Surely, the god wouldn't mind-- as Tantoa could see that even he was bothered by the red eyes the child had. Tantoa's Preferred Form;
