Dying golden hues danced across the skies as the sun began to set at the horizon, awakening deep shades of orange, purple and red that merged into something beautiful, something often only seen in works of art and fairytales. Perhaps if it wasn't for the cold stone that scraped her pads and the violent crashing of the sea against the cliffside, Mink could just imagine hard enough and she'd find herself in one of those fairytales, destined for a happy ever after. The lass shook her head. She wasn't a pup anymore. She'd spent countless moons travelling the far lands away from her home, unsure of exactly what she seeked.
Even now, as she stood at what seemed like the end of the world, she questioned exactly what she was looking for. The thrill of adventure? A purpose? Maybe one day she'd know.
Gazing down at the water that foamed at the edges of the rocks, she'd take in a deep breath, tasting the salt that seemed to fly straight from the waves until she could barely breathe. A frown crossed her delicate features. This place certainly wasn't for her. But if this place wasn't.

Exhaling a long sigh into the cooling air, the dark pelted dame would lift her head and stare at the sky until the stars revealed themselves. Here, with the pale silver light of the moon illuminating the swirling patterns of her fur, Mink realised how at ease she felt as she remembered stargazing late at night with her mother far past her bedtime, and the games they'd played in the den before they were tucked into their nests for the night. She realised just how much she'd reminisced about the feeling of being surrounded by her family, how much she missed her old home. A smile would settle on her face as her paws carried her away from the cliff's edge, guided by the deep pull in her heart. And just like so many times before, she was travelling again, but this time, she knew where she was going, where she belonged. She was going home.
